Radiant Cut Engagement Rings
A radiant is a rectangular diamond with cut corners and brilliant faceting, so it sparkles much like a round brilliant in a rectangular shape. It ranges from square to somewhat rectangular, though rarely as long as an emerald cut. Radiants are a common choice for fancy coloured diamonds because they show colour well. Treat these radiant cut engagement rings as starting points for a lab-grown or natural radiant, at our Toronto studio or virtually.

FAQ
What is the difference between a radiant and an emerald cut?
Both are rectangular with cut corners, but they shine very differently. A radiant has a brilliant cut with a glittering, kaleidoscope sparkle. An emerald cut is a step cut with bright mirror panels that let you see into the stone.
Does a radiant cut hide inclusions?
Better than an emerald cut does. Its sparkle camouflages inclusions, which leaves room to go lower in colour and clarity while maximizing size. For colour we still recommend H or higher, and going higher if you can see yellow.
Is a radiant or an emerald cut bigger for the same carat weight?
They are very similar. Emerald cuts tend to be cut a little shallower and radiants a little deeper, so a radiant shows slightly less surface from the top. The difference is very small.
How long does it take to make a custom radiant cut engagement ring?
Anywhere from 2 to 8 weeks generally. The exact timeline will largely depend on you. Generally it takes longer the more involved you want to be in the design approval process. Let us know what timeline you need your ring within and we’ll make sure it happens.
